It’s gotta be the best part of being a real estate agent – helping a client purchase their first home. I scored a home run with Emily and her family. A sweet young woman that was beyond easy to work with – and the icing on the cake is she was purchasing her very first home.
I was at an open house when I got the phone call from her mother. They had seen my listing, a charming townhome in Scottsdale, and were interested in previewing it. I met Emily and her boyfriend, Eric, and Emily’s mother at the townhome later that day and they all instantly fell in love. We took a look at another listing after that and they had already decided that my listing was for them.
We wrote up an offer the next night and within a week, we were under contract. Like any transaction, problems arise. Closing on a property is messy business. There’s several hands in the pot and the real estate agent needs to put the right team together to keep the wheel moving forward. Fortunately, I have an amazing group of people we work with and we kept the transaction from falling apart. It also helps that Emily and her family was so incredibly patient and grateful throughout the whole thing. It makes our incredibly difficult jobs that much easier.
There’s something extremely gratifying about helping someone purchase their first home. That day we get to closing and they sign the paperwork. It’s life changing for them and there’s nothing more amazing than being a part of such a significant moment.
